My heart is torn between East and West. I live somewhere between the present and the past. I don't know who I am.

Just another human being biding their time on this earth. Passionate about current affairs, history, politics (particularly MENA region), religion, cute animals and food.

Drought crisis in horn of Africa has been the worse in 60 years, affecting mostly Somalia. UNICEF called the Somalia drought & resulting refugee crisis “the most severe humanitarian emergency in the world.” Many people (mostly children) have fallen dead on the long, dry journeys to a refugee camp. Why aren’t many people aware of this crisis? As i always say, no crisis is any less or greater than the other. The least we can do is pray for them.

A number of charities have initiated Crisis Appeals to help raise money for those suffering from the effects of the drought. Being good is commendable, but only when it is combined with doing good is it useful” your donations, however small, could help to save a person’s life, do not ever think that you cannot make a difference: Raise awareness about the situation, tell your family, friends, neighbours etc. keep reblogging this post, donate your time volunteering for a charity that is helping to raise money to help bring about emergency services such as primary health care and high energy food supplements as well providing clean water for those suffering from the effects of the drought, bake some cakes and have a cake sale at your school/college/university/workplace to raise money to help bring about these emergency services to those who need it. These are just a few ideas, "it is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little - do what you can.”

I am only one, but I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.” ~Edward Everett Hale
