My heart is torn between East and West. I live somewhere between the present and the past. I don't know who I am.

Just another human being biding their time on this earth. Passionate about current affairs, history, politics (particularly MENA region), religion, cute animals and food.

"A family sits around a bonfire outside their house in the village of Bahir Jonai, Assam, India. A vast and heavily populated region of Asia that depends on water from Tibetan rivers is feeling the effects of China’s ambitious efforts to redraw its water map. Some even worry about future water wars; others say there’s still time for diplomacy to keep the peace.

Girls Dancing, Pune, India

"While visiting the WAGGGS World Centre Sangam, located in Pune, India, I had the privilege of attending the Bharat Scouts and Guides Thinking Day celebrations. These young ladies were demonstrating a game they were teaching us and I had just enough time to snap this photo before dropping the camera (literally) and joining in!"

Who Let the Tigers out? Thrissur, Kerala. India.

"Pullikali artists painted as tigers transform the road into a carnival on 26th August 2010 at Thrissur, Kerala. Puli Kali also known as Kaduvakali is a colorful recreational folk art from the state of Kerala. It is performed by trained artists to entertain people on the occasion of Onam, an annual harvest festival, celebrated mainly in the Indian state of Kerala. On the fourth day of Onam celebrations (Nalaam Onam), performers painted like tigers and hunters in bright yellow, red, and black dance to the beats of instruments like Udukku and Thakil."

Stuck in Traffic, Mumbai, India

The photo shows a string of taxis stuck in traffic in Mumbai, gleaming in warm afternoon sun. The shot was taken from inside a taxi as well. I particularly liked the way the taxis lined up nicely and that one of the drivers looked outside to get a breath of “fresh” air. I wanted to capture the difficulty of moving around Mumbai.”

‘New Delhi, India. A perfect holiday morning with football and old friends - a potent combination, irrespective of age, time or geography. The moment is cherished forever for the carefree laughter it brings and a tinge of pining for ‘the way we were.”

What have those beautiful eyes seen? Lashkar Gah, Helmand Province, Afghanistan

"On a recent trip to Afghanistan, I was in Lashkar Gah and met this lady who is a sergeant in the local Counter Narcotics Unit. She picked up my helmet and asked to have a photo taken. I was told later that, in a former life, she was an interrogator and had skinned at least two Russian soldiers alive. A chance encounter on a risky trip - what have those beautiful eyes seen?"

Evening rush hour, Tokyo, Japan

'This image was taken in the midst of a wet evening rush hour. I think there's a lovely contradiction here. These guys are just a handful of the millions of commuters having a beer on the way home, yet they're down a small alley and could be a world away from the travelling hordes passing by at the end of the street'
