Khyam Allami & Andrea Piccioni

Khyam Allami is a prominent young aud (lute) player. He has performed at WOMAD 2010 and he took part in the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Khyam who was born in Damascus, Syria, to Iraqi parents in 1981, left when he was nine years old.

He will be performing this Friday, the 22nd of July, 2011 at a candle light vigil for Syria in Trafalgar square from 8:30pm -  11:30pm. If you live in London then please come down and show your support. Note from the organiser: “This event is a humanitarian event ONLY. Please don’t bring any political banners, just the national flag (not the independence flag) and candles…thanks for understanding.”
